My name is Regina Prevosto, I am Board Certified* in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and a Reiki Master/Teacher. I believe we are all capable of healing ourselves, yet sometimes we need a little help and guidance to make the process work. I believe my role in your healing process is truly that of a guide. I've recently located to Maryland to be near my daughter and her growing family, so my practice is now located at Merritt Clubs Eldersburg.
Since graduating from the Denver School of Massage Therapy, I have passed the NCBTMB's national certification exam, taken hundreds of additional hours of training in a wide variety of techniques, including Aromatherapy, Sacred Stone Bodywork, Prenatal & Partners Pregnancy Massage, Active Isolated Stretching, Trigger Point Therapy, & Sports Massage, thus allowing me to achieve and maintain my Board Certification. I have over 30 years experience in Equine Massage, Reiki (human & animal), Healing Touch for Animals, and Sports Massage (human & animal)
I strongly believe in using organic and locally grown or manufactured products in my home and practice. My formal education as a biochemist and toxicologist has influenced my desire to reduce my family and friends' exposure to unhealthy and unnecessary products. I have developed a small line of all natural and mostly organic spa products (muscle cream, wound cream, bath salts, sugar & salt scrubs, body creams, massage bars, lip balm, deodorant/antiperspirant sticks, etc..) that is available to my clients through my practice and to the public at a few local shops. All massages are performed using organic massage bars & essential oils.
*Board Certified versus Licensed Massage Therapist:
- Board Certification—Starting in 2013, the Board Certification (which replaced the National Credential effective January 01, 2013) — by including additional education, hands-on experience and a background check — will ensure that therapists achieving this credential will have the proper foundation to better serve their clients. Achievement of this credential is the highest attainable level in the profession. Board Certification demonstrates a commitment to the highest available credential. As in other professions, Board Certification is an additional differentiator for professional massage therapists
- Licensing—NCBTMB’s exams are utilized by 39 states and the District of Columbia to allow applicants to demonstrate their knowledge of basic information. Upon passing the exam (or any other form of demonstration accepted by the state), and meeting other required state criteria, the therapist will become a Licensed Massage Therapist. Once the exam is passed, all administration and oversight of the Licensing credential is done by the state.
